Due to their proximity to the source, a primeval energy believed to be one of the ultimate foundations of the universal expression of energy, these new gods have evolved into genetically stable higher beings of evolutionary perfection. all of the new gods possess superhuman abilities of various kinds and differing degrees, including superhuman strength, stamina, reflexes, invulnerability and speed. the denizens of new genesis and apokolips are also immortal and endowed with a greater intelligence than homo sapiens, despite their resemblance.

Parallax software thought, "what if we took elements of a flight combat game, and combined them with elements of a first-person shooter like doom? ", and out came such a game. parallax risked their budget developing a flight game that also felt like playing a first-person shooter, with some expectations that there might never be sequels (which would go on to also be critically acclaimed) if this one commercially failed, and the result was overwhelmingly positive.

He did a masterful job of acting, making the character totally believable. peter sarsgaard as hector hammond was wonderfully wacky, bone-chillingly evil when combined with parallax, and i wish he could return somehow for another engagement. when a killer laughs while doing evil deeds, he takes the audience completely out of their comfort zone.

This peace is interrupted when a colossal, evil force named parallax figured that it would be real evil if he started to eat planets; earth and oa are on his menu.meanwhile, on earth, our central human characters who coincidentally all have daddy issues, are introduced. hal jordan is a reckless test pilot whose actions on the job are always questioned by his authorities. when a severely injured green lantern crash lands on our planet, hal is the one chosen by the lantern's ring as his replacement.

Jordan also becomes friends with kyle rayner after their first battle with parallax. in the new volume, jordan moves to the nearly deserted coast city, which is slowly being rebuilt. reinstated as a captain in the united states air force, jordan now works in the test pilot program at edwards air force base.

Sinestro removes the ion entity from kyle, who is immediately taken over by parallax. parallax then clothes itself in a new uniform (which appears as a combination of kyle's original green lantern costume and the costume hal jordan wore as parallax) and returns to qward with the sinestro corps. parallax becomes a herald of the reborn anti-monitor alongside hank henshaw, superman-prime, and sinestro himself.
