Joe Vs Robocop : Who Is The Main Character In Robocop?

From director paul verhoeven, robocop is the story of alex murphy (peter weller). murphy is a recent transfer and his first time out in his new precinct ends with local kingpin clarence boddicker (kurtwood smith) and his cronies filling him with more shotgun slugs than one would think humanly possible. meanwhile, the conglomerate ocp is in need of a "volunteer" for their new robocop program when their unmanned police robot, the ed-209, displays some hazardous glitches.

Given the fact that peter weller was responsible for making robocop something of an icon it was a brave move for burke to accept the role in this third film. to his credit, burke does a very good job and was every bit as good as weller in my opinion. granted it was a risk re-casting the role, but i personally felt that it paid off here.

Murphy's death is prolonged and violent so that the audience can see robocop as imbued with the humanity taken from him by the inhumane actions of boddicker's gang and ocp. verhoeven considered it important to acknowledge the inherent darkness of humanity to avoid inevitable mutual destruction. he was affected by his childhood experiences during world war ii and the inhuman actions he witnessed.

I gotta say how great joel kinnaman is here as the angry, troubled & struggling son of a well known hitman, because his performance is excellent & he totally can stand toe to toe with the veteran liam neeson, i'm a huge fan of kinnaman from the excellent but underrated "robocop" remake & his awesome part of rick flag in the excellent "suicide squad" & his outstanding lead performance in the brilliant & gritty crime thriller "the informer" the guy is hands down my favourite "new" actor out there & his performance & holding his own with neeson here is spectacular!! !the great veteran actor ed harris gives an excellent performance as the other mob boss who's psycho son committed those murders & something else went wrong leading to the city wide hunt for the conolans, the cast is excellent as we also have rapper turned actor "common" who is a deadly assassin also on ththe hunt for the conolan's & boyd hollbrook as danny maguire the crazy son of shawn maguire (ed harris) & there's even a small role for major veteran great actor nick nolte & the main cop on the chase too is another great actor vincent d'onofrio who is always excellent in everything!!! i really liked the tough & strained relationship of father & son conolan's as both neeson & kinnaman are both so convincing & both outstanding actors!!!

It's stunningly, tragically poetic - a cinematic gem in the midst of so much (admittedly wonderful) commercial fodder.and that leads into the characters - the true masterpieces of this film. only two recognisable names top off the cast list of this remarkable ensemble of - wait for it - … real, ordinary people; not of the polished, refined and gorgeous faces that have graced hollywood for decades, but of the broken, the meek and the lost; those that we - the audience - never seem to consider. you are witnessing the struggles of ordinary people as they fight through a dog-eat-dog world in which everything seems to be utterly pointless.though nicholas cage's recent cinematic endeavours have been… questionable at best, joe marks a turning point in the actor's long and oftentimes rocky career, and back to the cage that fans know and love dearly - the one that won the academy award for leaving las vegas (1995).

Joe ransom (nicolas cage) and his men clear unwanted trees using poison in rural texas. he has a violent temper especially with the creepy willie (ronnie gene blevins) and the cops. people like joe but he did time for assaulting cops.
