Even the music was a throwback to river song. capaldi gave another stellar performance. the special effects were great. alex kingston was as always amazing as river song, and capaldi was amazing. the music is beautiful. the performance was great.

cotton haynes, as a juvenile delinquent version of roy harper, is again all show. the guest cast is better – john barrowman is an excellent corporate main villain. for comic fans, there’s a brilliant rendition of deathstroke and the royal flush gang.

this is a real shame because river is such a great character, so well acted by alex kingston. matt lucas makes a good debut as nardole and greg davies as hydroflax. the majority of the episode is comedic fluff and skims over deeper issues.
