Speaking of which while i admit i kinda liked ryan reynolds as hal jordan, i still think he was miscast.reynolds fits more for guy gardner than hal jordan. blake lively while hot she really didn't have anything to contribute as carol ferris and i wish they might've developed her character maybe if they make a sequel she'll become star sapphire. now i really wished that sinestro would be the main villain.

Basically the retelling the origin of hal jordan. it is great to see a character that i grew up reading about on the screen, but hal jordan's character seems a bit generic or two dimensional. sinestro's character is much better developed.

Later, sinestro uses the ring to briefly reanimate ro by reconnecting his neural pathways. boodikka and kilowog get into a fight and proceed to tear up a rather spacious and sturdy environment. the scene culminates in a character dying in a very graphic and almost r-rated manner.

Tommy lee jones plays two-face in a grotesque, unwatchably hyper performance, and jim carrey plays the riddler. carrey just does his usual schtick, the same he does no matter what role he's playing, but god knows if there's anything salvageable about this movie, it's him.instead of the moody production design of the first two burton efforts, we instead get a lot of neon and swirling lights -- the effect is like being trapped inside a pinball machine.schumacher is such a heavy handed director, he makes oliver stone look subtle.grade: d-
