Doctor Octopus Vs Lizard : Who Plays Doctor Octopus In Spiderman 2?

While her performance is fine, the character of mary jane starts to feel almost like an antagonist throughout the movie. through her shaky connection with peter, the audience is, at first, confused with her actions, and then just starts to get slightly annoyed with her character.despite all of the great performances throughout spiderman 2, alfred molina completely steals the show, playing a magnificent doctor octopus. although willem dafoe's green goblin/norman osborn was great, molina's performance slightly tops that of dafoe's.

Here we have the sequel of sam raimi's spider-man trilogy starring tobey maguire as spider-man, blah blah blah... and since green goblin is dead in the first movie, there's a new villain called doctor octopus played by alfred molina. things changed in the movie.the performances were a lot better than they did in the previous film. tobey maguire suddenly got better and better and even acquainted with this huge character and suddenly critics praise him for his role as the one and only spider-man.

It seems that the world can't get enough of super-heroes and it's a genre that i always find fun but, after three spider-man movies with sam raimi as director and tobey maguire in the arachnid persona and an interval of five years since the last film, it seems that it's time for a re-boot. so now marc webb ("(500) days of summer") takes on the directorial duties and british actor andrew garfield ("the social network") spins peter parker's webs and the storyline goes back to the beginning with a reprise of the spider-biting incident and the death of his uncle.we have a new baddie in the guise of rhys ifans who, after his charming arrival in "notting hill" seems to have adopted the frequent role for british actors of being the unpleasant character in an american movie (see also "the five-year engagement"). at least emma stone, who was in "spider-man 3".

Rhys ifans was good as the lizard and as dr. connors. sally field, denis leary, and martin sheen all played very well in their roles. the amazing spider man makes the first three look even worse than i thought they were before.

I firmly enjoyed thomas haden church as sandman, but i feel as though raimi tried to rehash what he did with alfred molina's doctor octopus. it has a been there and done that feel. as for topher grace who plays eddie brock/venom, well it's a massive disservice to one of spider-man's most popular foe.
