The story of geralt of rivia, yennefer of vengerberg and cirlla of cintra, starts off slow and in three different timelines.although he excels in the fight sequences, henry cavill offers nothing new, essaying the same troubled and brooding performance as geralt that we saw in justice league and his superman movies. however, it is anya chalotra as the bullied, abused, betrayed and ultimately heartbroken yennefer that steals the show with a breathtaking performance.from episode 4 onwards, the witcher gathers breakneck pace but i was disappointed they didnt further stress on yennefer's growth from a novice mage (witch) to an experienced one and rather breezed through many of her formative years.the intricacies of the witcher universe never rise to the levels of game of thrones or the mandalorian, but the final convergence of the three timelines and the three main characters was a treat to watch.the showrunners ended season 1 on a knife edge, which is sure to see viewers return en masse for season 2!a watchable series that is slow at first, but is sure to keep you hooked and intrigued for season 2 by the end!

Henry cavill is definitely geralt of rivia and when he started to speak i was shocked that he sounded just like geralt in the game!amongst other characters i think the casting is great with ciri, yennefer, mousesack, and triss. each actor i feel embodies the persona of the character they are portraying.don't believe what the critics say, if you have played or read the books you will love this live adaptation of the witcher. it's dark, gritty, bloody, comical, and oh those action sequences though made my jaw drop.if you haven't played the games or read the books.
