Anthony hopkins remains brilliant as hannibal lecter...edward norton is very good as his ""male" adversary. but this is the worst of the 3 "lecter" movies. the direction is so pedantic...just plods along without imagination.

The series is based on characters and elements appearing in thomas harris' novels red dragon and hannibal, with focus on the relationship between fbi special investigator will graham (hugh dancy) and dr. hannibal lecter (mads mikkelsen), a forensic psychiatrist destined to become graham's most cunning enemy. the episode revolves around will graham asking hannibal lecter for help while investigating "the tooth fairy", a serial killer. the killer, a man named francis dolarhyde, is living a lonely life but feels a new meaning when he meets a co-worker, reba mcclane.

Will is deployed to the stranger, more violent fbi cases by jack crawford (laurence fishburne), a senior agent despite the persistent warnings of fellow agent dr. alana bloom (caroline dhavernas), who believe that will might not be emotionally stable enough to continue diagnosing violent crimes. early on in the season, graham is forced to take the life of serial murderer garret jacob hobbs (vladimir jon cubrt) in order to save hobbs' daughter abigail (kacey rohl). this acts haunts will to the point of him being referred to the best psychiatrist around...dr. hannibal lecter (mads mikkelsen).the show starts off a bit on the slow side.

Brett ratner is becoming one of my favorite directors and i'm becoming more and more impressed with his versatility (with films like the "rush hour" films and "the family man"). i can't wait to see his next work!the cast was just fantastic in this film. anthony hopkins portrays hannibal lecter just as excellent as he has in the past.

The follow up to the masterpiece, the silence of the lambs anthony hopkins is back as the psychotic and criminally insane yet brilliant dr. hannibal lecter and as this will come as no surprise, he was terrific and terrifying with his portrayal of one of the most shocking villains ever brought to screen. changes were made however with the director and leading lady. veteran ridley scott replaced johnathan demme as director and julianne moore replaced jodie foster.

Officers then proceed to kill crawford, but he is saved by chiyoh (tao okamoto), who kills the officers. they leave to find lecter and graham in muskrat farm, despite crawford having to evade authorities. at muskrat farm, mason informs lecter and graham about crawford's "death", which will be blamed on lecter.
