For years i was wondering will the dc comics character known has shazam will ever be brought to the big screen, and now it's finally here, and was it worth the wait, yes it was. billy batson(asher angel) a 14 year old runaway trying to find his long lost mother, is placed with a foster family, one day saves his foster brother from bullies, is chased to the subway, suddenly finds himself in the company of an ancient god known has shazam, he chooses billy to carry his power every time he says shazam, he becomes a superhuman(zachery levi) with the powers of a god, but billy begins to have fun with it. but will billy discover what it truly means to be a hero?a pretty good dc film, zachery levi really plays the part of a kid in a superhero adult body perfectly, though there are some scenes he overdoes it a bit.

Billy is depicted as living in a foster home with freddy (voiced by georgie kidder) and darla (voiced by kimberly brooks). a fan of high school football star vic stone (a.k.a. cyborg), billy gets to work alongside his hero as shazam to help the justice league fight darkseid.

His evolved physiology originally made him superhumanly strong and durable, enough to lift a large spaceship and fight toe to toe with beings such as lobo. after his resurrection, however, his physical power was significantly diminished, although his mental and psionic abilities have been enhanced. he has also acquired a teleportation ability that can be used on others as well as himself, but normally requires an hour to recharge after every "jump".
