Jenny Vs River Song : Who Performed The River Song?

Brilliantly written, incredibly clever, genuinely terrifying, and a complete joy to watch. the highlight of this episode, i can't decide; whether it's the doctor himself, the perfectly cast river song (played by alex kingston), or the weeping angels. the doctor becomes far less bumbling in this episode, and transforms into a much more self-confident, trustworthy character.

Oliver explains he was happy to be treated kindly and have a real home, dodger feels disheartened and lets him leave, but fagin hears the kitten has been taken in by someone rich, he comes up with the idea to ransom him so that his owner will pay a large amount for his return, he tells this plan to sykes as well. jenny finds the ransom note and follows the instructions, taking georgette with her, fagin realises the owner is an innocent little girl and his conscience takes over, but as he gives her kitten back freely sykes comes out of the shadows and kidnaps the girl to ransom her, dodger and the gang chase after the villain, until sykes is defeated by a train collision on the brooklyn bridge. in the end oliver is reunited happily with jenny, she celebrates her birthday with the animals, fagin and winston, the butler tells the girl the news that her parents are returning home from rome the following day, oliver chooses to stay in his new home, but promises to stay in touch with dodger and the rest of the gang.

Even the music was a throwback to that two parter. alex kingston was as always amazing as river song, and capaldi gave another stellar performance. the special effects were great too, and the music was just beautiful.

The doctor's apparent death at lake silencio was a fixed point in time, but river song prolonged his final moment by refusing to take part, creating river song's world. as time fell apart, river was desperate to save the doctor, and built a timey-wimey distress beacon, informing all of time and space that the doctor was dying. responses came from all over the universe that they would help.

Jenny later returned to life (unbeknownst to the doctor) in a burst of golden shimmering energy, but without changing her face; the energy resembled regeneration energy, but also the life-giving gasses of the source. (tv: the doctor's daughter) according to one account, the doctor's new golden appearance was due to the restoration from his saviour. (prose: doctor who and the time war) after the bruce master was executed by the daleks and transferred his essence into a human body, he attempted to use the eye of harmony in the doctor's tardis to transfer the eighth doctor's five remaining regenerations to him to restore himself to full life.

(tv: mawdryn undead) while regeneration was a natural time lord function, it was not an intrinsic part of their genetic makeup that could be acquired through simple dna samples. when the forge created a clone of the sixth doctor, the most successful clone retained the doctor's knowledge but was incapable of regenerating, although this may have been due to flaws in the forge's cloning technology. (audio: project lazarus) the doctor was initially uncertain whether his "daughter" jenny (grown from harvested genetic material of his tenth incarnation) could regenerate, and when he witnessed her dying of a gunshot wound, commented she wasn't "enough" like him with a fatalistic tone.

A second full series of 13 episodes was commissioned for 2011, with smith and gillan both returning as the doctor and amy respectively (making it the first time since the show's relaunch in 2005 that both the doctor and main companion had remained the same from one series to the next). the series was broadcast in two halves, with the first seven episodes broadcast between april and june 2011, and the final six beginning on 27 august 2011. with the new series, darvill was upgraded to series regular and full-time companion as rory, and kingston continued to appear on a recurring basis as river song.
