Fairy Godmother Vs Flora : Who Is On A Quest To Rescue The Princess Fiona?

Once there farquaad tells him that he can have his swamp back if he goes on a quest; to rescue the princess fiona from a tower which is protected by a fire breathing dragon. she is waiting to be rescued by her 'true love' so is rather surprised to find herself rescued by an ogre. as they head back shrek develops feelings for fiona and it emerges that princess fiona is subject to a witch's curse; when the sun sets she is a very different person.this animated fairy tale has become a modern classic thanks to the way it plays with traditional tropes and incorporates elements of many classic into its story.

The three good fairies, flora, fauna, and merryweather, are invited. flora and fauna bestow gifts of beauty and song upon aurora. before merryweather can cast her spell, the uninvited maleficent--the mistress of all evil--arrives, furious at not being invited.

Lily james ("downton abbey" and the upcoming 'war and peace") lights up the screen as cinderella, charming without being overly cutesy, and feisty without being anachronistically modern. richard madden is suitably scrubbed and bland as her prince charming, while cate blanchett, sophie mcshera and holliday grainger score as her cruel and boorish stepmother and stepsisters, respectively. derek jacobi is the king and helena bonham carter plays the fairy godmother who also narrates the tale.it's safe to say that this visually ravishing version of "cinderella" will become a home video staple for generations to come.

Celeste holm makes a terrific fairy godmother. jo van fleet, pat carroll, & barbara ruick are obviously having a wonderful time as the evil stepmother/stepsisters. it must have been such a joy for jo van fleet to break away from all the serious roles she played, & she camps it up with glee.

After the death of her father the kind young girl named ella (lily james) is tormented by her evil stepmother and stepsisters. ever hopeful, ella's life is changed forever when she meets her love with a little help from a fairy godmother. with the current trend of live-action remakes of disney classic animation, it was only matter of time that cinderella was given the same treatment.

Consequently, king harold hires mercenary hit-cat puss in boots to do away with shrek. unable to do the deed, boots switches sides and accompanies shrek and donkey to solicit help from fairy godmother. (they wrongly suppose she’s a compassionate soul out to help the less fortunate.)

Shrek tells the story of a hideous ogre who lives in a swamp, happy to be alone. when the evil lord farquaad evicts all the fairy tale creatures (including pinocchio and the 3 little pigs) from his land, they go to shrek's swamp. lord farquaad tells shrek that he'll remove the creatures if he can defeat a dragon and rescue a stranded princess.

The choice to go with mike myers scottish brogue is the only thing in the film i would question, but then i cannot picture the lovable shrek any other way.the plot is very simple. shrek is enlisted by lord farquaad to rescue princess fiona from a dangerous dragon. pretty standard fairy tale fare.
